Raw Meat Makes Me Want To Throw Up! Repost

This was my most read blog post of 2008.  It totally cracks me up because I was simply being my silly self when I wrote it.  Hope you enjoy! Please be sure to leave a comment.

The other day I was talking to my stepmom who is as southern as they come.  She loves working outside in her garden, loves horses, and isdiva_chicken just an all around wonderful lady.  Well, during our conversation, she told me that a family would be dropping off some chickens so I assumed that she was going to start raising chickens.  That was not the case!  The family was dropping the chickens off so that she could ring their necks and pluck them!  All I can say is…G-R-O-S-S!!  Just the thought of it makes me want to throw-up!! While I love meat and will not turn down a good steak, I cannot look at raw meat.  Just being in the meat section, at a local grocery store, grosses me out!

This past Monday (Memorial Day), I thought that I would be a good wife and make dinner for my darling hubby.  After all, he does ALL of the cooking as I was not made to be in the kitchen.  Let’s just say the fire department is on speed dial when I try to cook.  It’s not pretty!  Anyway, back to my story, I decided that I was going to make a pork roast in the crockpot…not hard, right?  Well, it was because I had to handle the raw meat!  So, I put on a pair of rubber gloves and goggles and proceeded to wash the meat, put a pork rub on it and placed it in the crockpot.

This was all done, of course, in a lovely pair of pink stilettos!

My husband thought I was crazy, but got a good laugh while watching me attempt to make him dinner.  He especially got a thrill out of the rubber gloves and goggles.  Hey, a diva has got to protect herself, right?  I gladly turned the kitchen back over to him on Tuesday!!

So girlfriend, try something new today.  Just remember to wear your high-heels and definitely wear gloves…you don’t want to get your hands dirty and ruin those lovely nails!!

Until next time…wear your heels well!!

January is Health & Wellness Month

Throughout the month of January, BriefcaseDiva will be focusing on health and wellness.  Not only do we need to have a healthy business, we also need to keep our physical, mental, and spiritual bodies intact.  When we concentrate so heavily on our businesses, our bodies take the brunt of the abuse. We tend not to eat healthy nor get a good nights rest.

Since it’s a new year, we have decided to supply you with the tools to stay healthy so that you can be prosperous. In doing so, we have some dynamic guests lined up for Diva Talk RadioDiva Talk Radio. You definitely do not want to miss a single show! Every Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. EST.

In addition to the shows, I have some other interviews and articles that I will be posting here in The Diva BlogThe Diva Blog. Plus, I will be sharing some personal stories, with you, of how I overcame some issues in my life that were unhealthy. You will see a side of me that very few see. This is a scary move on my part, but my goal is to show you that you too can overcome heartaches and blossom into something beautiful.

My goal is for YOU to shine in 2009!

Until next time…wear your heels well!

Can You Say “Fart” Without Laughing? (Repost)

I am re-posting this blog because the link in the last post did not work.  The poem in the blog that I am referring too is just WAY to funny to not share it with you. So, here it goes again!

OMG Divas! I am laughing so hard that my belly hurts! You see, I needed a break from working on a client’s project so I went “blog surfing”. Upon my journey, I stumbled upon this guy’s blog that caught my attention. The title to his blog was Scratch N’ Sniff.

Well, I’m of the age where I remember the stickers that you could buy that were…well, ‘scratch and sniff’. It brought back many wonderful childhood memories of collecting the stickers and putting them into my sticker books. I just loved my sticker books. I treasured them. Then finding my pesky little brother tearing them out one by one…I just wanted to kill him, but I knew my mom would get mad and I would be in BIG trouble…I always seemed to get in trouble over my brother because I was the big sister and I had to set the example. Oh wow…where was that going? Do I need therapy? I think I went back WAY too far in my childhood memories. Ouch! Sorry about that…okay back to my funny finding!

stinkyWhen I started to read this “Scratch N’ Sniff” blog, I found that he wrote a poem about Thanksgiving night. You just have to read this blog. It’s classic! You will laugh so hard because it rings true in EVERY relationship. Brian Shaw certainly has a way with words and this is a blog that I will certainly bookmark!

Thanks Brian for being so creative!

Now, go visit Brian’s blog and be sure to leave him a comment and tell him that Kelli Claypool sent you his way. I don’t get any brownie points for sending you but at least he will know where you came from. 🙂
